Greetings

Happy Monday!

Another week of this new life with the coronavirus... ugh. The good news is that the curve is flattening overall and it appears that we are finally heading towards a decline in numbers in our area as well. Personally, I think that the Maryland governor's efforts are paying off... the consequences could have been so much worse.

At the same time, I'm hearing about more people that have contracted the virus and even died from it. A neighbor's elderly wife who has been in a nursing home was diagnosed last week and is hospitalized at Montgomery General Hospital. He hasn't seen her and can't see her. A neighborhood pool friend's cousin in NY died last week at the age of 65. Closer to me, a friend and PT colleague of mine lost his father to COVID a month ago, 2 days later he was admitted to the hospital sick from contracting the virus and spent 22 days in the hospital including time in the ICU on a ventilator. He is a triathlete in his 40's. It's crazy how unpredictable this virus can be. I figured it was only a matter of time before I would hear of more cases through people I knew. I'm sure this may be the case for you as well.

My thoughts go out to those who are with families and friends currently dealing with COVID-19 and other serious illnesses, particularly those who have lost a loved one. This is a very difficult time to lose a loved one.

On a personal note...

My 2nd round of plants is in the new raised garden bed that I built last week. I planted onions, romaine lettuce, broccoli, strawberries, mini peppers, red peppers, shishito peppers, cucumber, and 3 tomato plants (in containers). In 3 weeks or so, I plan to plant my 3rd round of plants in the second half of the bed. Thankful for my boys' help in shoveling and transferring the soil!

On the health front... I'm done with the first week (Detox phase) of my 30 Day Get Lean During Quarantine challenge for myself. I weighed myself this morning for the first time since initial weigh-in and I'm down 4 lbs in 1 week! I'm excited about this start and it's going to propel me to stick with it through the next phase over the upcoming 3 weeks.

Save The Date... I'm going to host another online Virtual Happy Hour and Q&A on Monday, May 11th at 5:00 PM. I hope you can join me! I'll have a sign-up link in next week's email.

This week's blog: Ready for a Change in Your Health and Well-Being? Here Is How to Get on a Path of Success and Fulfillment. If you are ready for a change, but not sure where to start or what path to take, this blog will help you. You can use it for any change you set out for your life.

I'm seeing a slight increase in the number of visits for both telehealth and in-person visits. If you are looking to get in for therapy in May, please call or email me soon to ensure you can get on the schedule.

Well, I think that's it for this week. I hope you have a good week.

Be Well,

Tamer

PS. I'm looking for blog ideas. I have plenty in my head to write about, but I want to make it relevant to what people want to learn and hear about. If you have a topic (general or specific) that you would like me to write about, please let me know. Email me at issa@issapt.com. Thanks in advance!

“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup. When you pour water in a bottle, it becomes the bottle. When you pour water in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”
