Urgent Action is Needed to Defend Dry Needling for Physical Therapists Practicing in Maryland

The ability for physical therapists to utilize dry needling as a treatment method could be in future jeopardy in the State of Maryland. If you support physical therapists performing dry needling or have received dry needling treatments from physical therapists in Maryland in the past or wish to do so in the future, please read on. We need your help, please take the following action below by September 28th, 2012.

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN DO

Please help in showing support for the Board of Physical Therapy and the right of qualified PTs to perform this technique. We need individuals (both PTs, non-members, other providers) to submit written comments via email or hard copy letter to the Secretary of Health.  It is also imperative that we have patients submit letters of support to the Secretary of Health.

Step 1.  Draft your comment letter.  For PTs and other health care providers please see the letter template and suggested talking points.  For patients, please see the sample letter.

Step 2.  Submit your comment letter.  Send comment via email to: regs@dhmh.state.md.us
