ISSA PT Educational Series
We are excited to announce our first of a number of events at ISSA PHYSICAL THERAPY in 2015. We hope to bring a good mix of informative and educational talks through the remainder of the year. Topics will vary from pain science, nutrition, posture, exercise, as well as the opportunity to listen to local colleagues and experts from our community! Be sure to check back on our website in the coming weeks for updates to our calendar.
We are excited to welcome Elizabeth Blumberg, RD, LDN, CPT from EB Nutrition on Tuesday March 24th, from 6:30-8 PM.
Nutrition, Stress and Pain
The saying “you are what you eat” is particularly accurate when dealing with pain and inflammation. The foods you put into your body will have a direct effect on your inflammatory pathways. In addition, there are numerous imbalances in the body that may provoke pain which can be addressed using nutritional interventions. If you suffer from pain, you may often feel that it is something you have no control over. However, you can have more control by using diet and nutrition to reduce and in some cases even absolve your symptoms.
This seminar will cover:
- Underlying nutritional inflammatory triggers
- Nutritional interventions for pain specific conditions
- How digestion and immunity affect inflammatory pathways
- How to reduce stress induced pain through diet
- Food allergies and inflammation
- Anti-inflammatory foods, herbs and spices
