Cold Laser Therapy- FAQ’s

Why Laser Therapy? Low level laser therapy is a painless, non-invasive, drug-free treatment which is used to treat a variety of pain syndromes, injuries, neurological conditions, wounds and fractures.  Treatable conditions include Arthritis, Back Pain, Bursitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Headaches, Knee Pain, Neck Pain, Plantar Fasciitis, Sciatica, Shoulder Pain, Tendonitis, TMJ Pain, Trigger Points, and much more.

How Does Laser Light Heal? Low level lasers supply energy to the body in the form of non-thermal photons of light.  These light photons can penetrate 2 inches without being absorbed by the skin, fat, or blood.  Once the photons reach the injured tissue, they stimulate and energize the cells to repair and heal at remarkably fast rate.  The physiological effects include improved cell metabolism, improved blood circulation, analgesic effects, anti-inflammatory effects, stimulation of nerve function and stimulation of wound healing.

What Can I Expect During a Laser Therapy Treatment Session? A treatment can vary from 2 to 30 minutes.  Most patients notice an immediate improvement after 1 session. The majority of patients need 5-8 visits for maximal benefit.   Duration of treatment and number of visits is often dependent on the severity and chronic nature of the condition.

Is It Safe? Low Level Therapy is very safe.  The FDA approved the 830Laser device and laser therapy has been used for over 30 years internationally. It is finally being made available in the United States after 12 years of study and research.
